Le's drive Sac-town together.

*VAGABOND ROADTRIP ESSENTIALS*

Before the arrival of the Spanish, the area was inhabited by the Nisenan, Maidu, and other indigenous peoples of California. Spanish cavalryman Gabriel Moraga surveyed and named the Río del Santísimo Sacramento (Sacramento River) in 1808, after the Blessed Sacrament. In 1839, Juan Bautista Alvarado, Mexican governor of Alta California, granted the responsibility of colonizing the Sacramento Valley to Swiss-born Mexican citizen John Augustus Sutter, who subsequently established Sutter's Fort and the settlement at the Rancho Nueva Helvetia. Following the American Conquest of California and the 1848 Treaty of Guadalupe-Hidalgo, the waterfront developed by Sutter began to be developed and incorporated in 1850 as the City of Sacramento. In 1852, the city offered its county courthouse to the state of California to house the state legislature, resulting in the city becoming the permanent state capital in 1854 and ushering in the construction of a new state capitol building which was finished in 1874.

Thank you for his video. I lived in Midtown for two years and it was the most amazing place that I've had the pleasure to live in. I'm making it my goal to move back to Sac as soon as I can, but this time to stay. Yes the heat is treacherous but it's ok since I've lived in hotter places like the Imperial Valley. The trees and atmosphere are so worth it. Even to this day I continue to have dreams about Sacramento.

I used to live in mid-town and it was busy and full of life. Now it's basically abandoned and sad. Good going CA voters.

Sacramento looks like Oak Park Illinois but with palm trees

Very nice video, but it would be better with the map showed in the corner. It's my personal opinion. I'm thinking about moving to Sacramento and trying to imagine the city topography. Thanks for that video!

Come on. That's only downtown. There's west Sac. East Sac. South Sac. And North Sac. I guess the yuppies want Downtown and Midtown for the nightlife. Oh, yeah. I've lived in Sacramento my entire life.
