Well, what do you all think of the place? It has been a really cool experience to make our mark on this land in some small ways, I just can't wait until it is a compound! that's perfect terrain to setup a rain catchment system...just get a few IBC containers, put 'em at the bottom of the hill and bury them under soil, and then put a few big tarps on some relatively open parts of the upper hill with little rims built from stones, and then run PVC pipe from the lowest corners of the tarps down to the IBC totes. just have a swappable filter right before the water goes in, to get rid of dust/bugs/etc. and you'd have tens of thousands of gallons of clean fresh water per year, no problem.
