I'd look into allergy shots / allergen immunotherapy. I know a guy who was allergic to his girlfriend's dog. He got the shots and they really helped.

I used to be super allergic like you, but I’ve had my cat for 8 years now and I don’t get allergies. I do take allergy meds everyday, even when I’m not around him. But it was so worth it😌
