2022 Field Day QRP SSB 5w - Iowa

Maybe I took the ARRL summer "Field Day" a little to literally?.. LOL.. We get the ole 1938 JD Model A tractor out once a year and put her to work for a few hours of "old time" fun, so I took the IC705 and back pack along to make some calls.. This hobby is more fun than I could have imagined.. LOL

When I was a 15 year old kid I drove a John Deere A and started it by turning the fly wheel exactly as you did it this video. Will be 79.

Enjoyed this video so much! My grandparents were North Carolina produce farmers and I spent all my summers growing up on the farm. I’ve spent many hours behind the wheel of our little McCormick Farmall A and sometimes up on the big International 504. Great to see that old John Deere still rolling! 73 my friend!

I see you are using the I-705 but what is the backpack and the antenna and do you have a battery. This looks like the perfect setup for when the SHTF. Not being able to play radio while cultivating is probably a good thing so you avoid getting iron blight in those beans.

I’m sure they rectified that with auto steer and such.
