My family like many had wealth and land prior to the war .. now we are living in another country calling it home . . Dont get me wrong I ive learned to love this country and will forever be grateful for all the U.S has provided but still have this lingering thought of what if?

Lao people by nature are pretty naive. I'm not saying all of us are, but a great number are naive. The Viet Congs were able to exploit that naivety in Lao people.

The Vietnam war prove to me one thing and that is we are a weak minded people whos easily influence by others.. instead of focusing on greed and self thr government needs to focus on the country ... like I dont know education, hospitals, roads, buildings so on and so fourth

The Vietnamese today control Laos. They can do whatever they please. They chopped down trees, extract natural resources, bring in their people, and Lao people can't do a damn thing about it. On top of that, they're building a statue of Ho Chi Minh in our land. Does this sound like Vietnam has our best interest in mind?

Ho Chi Minh worked for the OSS(Office of Strategic Services) during World War II. The U.S. helped and trained the Viet Congs against the Japanese. Ho Chi Minh was only using the U.S. to serve his hidden agenda. Decades later, the U.S. would find out the true colors of Ho Chi Minh.

The main culprit was the Viet Cong. If we trace the source of the problem, it would all lead to the Viet Cong.

I think most of us know that Kaisone was the one controlling Souphanouvong behind the scenes. In turn, the Viet Cong was the one controlling Kaisone.

War is never the answer. The purpose is to educate those in Laos who only see things from a Communist perspective. The new generation of Lao people are oblivious to Post 1975 Lao history. I don't blame them because they were force fed with a distorted version of history. The Communist will never speak bad of themselves and what they done.

I understand the French gave parts of Laos to Thailand. I understand how the French treated Lao people. But I also understand if it wasn't for the French, there wouldn't be Laos. The French is the reason why Laos exist today. So you can't look at it from one side. You have to look at it from every side.

This is similar to Vietnam's situation. America consisted mostly former Saigon Regime Viets who is escaping Commie Persecution. Not surprising the Viets in America still flies the "Old Republic" Saigon Regime Flag (aka. Yellow with 3 Red Stripes).

Like Vietnam, the Commies won in the end. Like Vietnam, those who loyal to Parliamentary Monarchy of Laos have to escape persecution & assassination.

But the one who really responsible for the situation in Vietnam, Laos, & Afghanistan is none other than the United States.

You have to remember that France colonized Indo-China a long time ago. Laos, Vietnam, and Cambodia were all French colonies. After Lao gained independence from France, there was no reason for the Communist to take over Laos.

Lao people never chose Communism, it was forced on us by the Communist crooks. I can guarantee you if Lao people had a choice between Democracy and Communism, Lao people would pick Democracy in a heart beat. Only those brainwashed by Communism think this flawed system is right for Laos.

I know Lao people are still suffering from all the unexploded bombs. Look at it in terms of cause and effect. If we blame the U.S., then we also have to the blame the Viet Congs. We can't just pick and choose who to blame. If the Viet Congs didn't invade Laos and destroyed our neutral independence, then none of those bombs would have been dropped on Laos.

The Viet Congs didn't do anything for Laos but destroyed our sovereignty. The fact that hundreds of thousands of Laotians were forced to leave because of the ill treatment and oppression is proof that the Communist hasn't done anything for Laos.

Laos is not Communist? Really? Are you going to tell me the the sky is not blue too? If Laos isn't Communism, then why is there only 1 party in Laos? Why is the press controlled by the government? Why is the court system controlled by the government?

Laotians also never wanted French rule and their puppet Kingdom of Laos. That is why the Royal Army of Laos was defeated in 1975. If the Laotians love this monarchy of your, then they would not have supported the Pathet Lao. Win-out western imperialist support all anticommunist regimes in Indochina collapsed!
