Wow, so good to hear someone speak the truth! Only in the United States does a $5.00 insulin pump sell for $5, 000. How? why? The butons don't work, sent it back and got replacement, and buttons worse on the replacement. Alarms constantly, driving, trying to sleep, at work. The alarming is so bad that it is life threating, car crash, death from lack of sleep, fired from job because everyone thinks your deathly ill because why all the alarms? Starvation from being fired. This pump is not even worth $5.

I have used Dexcom in the past and I loved it. I am currently using the guardian sensor with my 670G medtronic pump. I believe that I am about 6 months away from being eligible for a new pump. I am happy that your are going to let us know how a different pump works for you. Thank you for your videos :)

I WAS also a Medftronic fan... after 3 pumps I got (3, 5 years ago) the promissing 670G pump and it worked for about 2-3 months... Than it started to acting weard, continuing the same insuline when my sugars were high (or low), leaving me high for a long time. Or at night stopping giving insuline when my sugar was dropping (which it is supposed to do) but then asked for a check blood glucose. Well, I'm sleeping and don't hear the alarm and after an hour it cancels the automode: stop-for-low off, so starts giving insuline while suger still decreasing, guiding me into a severe hypo :-( Calling with my diabetesnurse, calling with medtronic, nothing worked. A promise that I would get a 780G in one of the recall-actions (the transparent ring) was not done (in fact lateron nobody at Medtronic knew about that promise...). Bottomline, Medtronic just let me hang and I had to struggle for 3 more years with this terrible pump. Switched off the automode permanently summer 2022. Bloodsuger not much better, but at least I know (in most cases) what causes hypos and pypers instead of wondering why the algorithm of the pump did what it did....
I heared better stories about the 780G, but also horrorstories about it. With the current customer service of Medtronic (in the Netherlands) and a total lack of trust from my side in the pump and Medtronic's service, I don't want to "try" it with a risk of another 4 years struggling and disasters.
So the 670G and Medtronic support made me a total ANTIFAN of Medtronic pumps. I'm happy to announce that In about 6 month I'm eligable to select a new pump and I'm also interested in the tandem in combination with the dexcom. (Probably also have interest in DIY loop systems, which should also be possible with the tandem and dexcom). So it will be an exciting time for me the coming 6 months.
Thanks for posting this blog and looking forward to watch your other blogs (hopefully also about the tandem and dexcom ;-) )

I did the same thing last year, I had had enough with my Medtronic pump, my 670g for the same reasons and I ended up going over to Omnipod and I also use a Dexcom G6. I know many people have had issues with the Omnipod as well but I’ve been on it a year and have done fantastic so far. Everyone of course is different and I can’t wait to see how you do with the Tandem T-Slim !

I just made the change from the 670g to the Tandem Tslim with IQ. I was sick of the 670 never shutting up and all the errors with the sensors.

I started on the 630G in August 2017, then switched to the 670G in September 2018 and have had it for 3 years. I’m getting the 770G in around a week or so and we’ll see what happens.
The 670G has not been perfect and there were times that I wanted to throw it against the wall, but then I would have nothing. My insurance keeps me on Medtronic. If the 770G doesn’t work then I need to leave Medtronic and go with Dexcom… will let you know what happens.

I also made the decision to switch to Tandem from the 670g. I just received the new pump this morning and it is so much nicer than the 670g.

Have not found dexcom nor medtronic sensors useful. They cause a headache and disrupt sleep

I've had the 670G for 3 years 3 months. Just 9 more months until I get to throw this evil, awful, horrible, terrible pump away. I hate it. There is a long list of why I hate it. Inaccurate CGMS, not aggressive enough, too many alarms. BUT, its not because I do not have excellent diabetes control. I have great time in range (70-140), minimal highs, manageable lows, almost but not quite zero insulin reactions. I have great A1c. I have the best diabetes control I have ever had in 43 years. But I still hate hate hate the Medtronic 670G.
