Performance anxiety is not just something athletes, actors, speakers, students or CEOs feel. At some point in your life I am sure you have felt the pressure to perform a certain way or achieve a certain goal. And if you are anything like me, sometimes that pressure can cause extreme anxiety, stress, and mental blocks.

In this podcast I discuss how to deal with performance anxiety whether or not you are an athlete, speaker, or executive. I also discuss some tips that will help overcome mental blocks that come from performance anxiety.

This podcast is really thought provoking for me, I love the last part where you mention that we cannot live our lives based on people's expectations, and we need to define our own expectations. and basing our identity on intrinsic values.

Hi Dr Leaf. This was so helpful in thinking about performance anxiety and the heart of it. Do you have any recommendations for dealing with the physical symptoms of it (shaky voice, trembling, unable to think etc). I have that & limits my ability to contribute in regular meetings

We get anxious as well by physical / medical situations such as menopause or having having to go to the washroom too often. I tried to use the scripture, get out the room etc.. but the knot in my stomach would not go.
