Shiva Parvati Duel | Kathak Dance Presentation

An energetic performance based on the mythological story of the dance competition between Shiva and Parvati, in which, after an intense competition, Lord Shiva wins by lifting his right leg against his head, a pose Parvati could not do because of her restrictions as a woman. We have modified the ending and portrayed that Parvati also amazes the audience, making it impossible to determine a winner. Hence, Ardhanarishvara, the form of Shiva and Parvati together, is declared the winner. Our purpose for this is to convey that women are at par with men in all fields and that together they are undefeatable.

Who am I supposed to look at? Both of their grace is just.... awesome. Also, even though steps are really fast, both of their looks that going with the steps, the expression every single thing are so graceful. And they both carried the characters so well. When parvati is flawlessly doing all the steps showing her laasya, shiva is controlling the steps and making it to the perfect shiva
