Never give up on a loved one who suffers from this mental disorder ! When you do, you are shutting the door to their future . Brian Wilson went untreated for over 20 years ( and did on and off make some good music) in spite of his issues AS Did Syd Barrett, soon after being rejected by his band . Now Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys, has been touring and has been for over twenty years . Thanks to people not giving up and supporting him, as well as Psychiatrists finding the best medication options for him . Love and support is what he needed . Many people with Psychosis can return to their lives . I feel so sad for Syd, if only he had the right help . He may have made many more records and had the love and respect from the world that forgot him so quickly .

I hear a lot of sarcastic comments, but I need to tell gilmour and Barrett I love them both. They should not be compared. It’s like comparing sand to salt. I just wish everybody would leave them both alone. Live and let live, die in peace

Back in those days, my clan and I took hallucinogens experimentally. We would take vitamins and eat healthy for a minimum of 3 days before tripping again. Unfortunately, several of my friends overindulged and they were never the same and like Syd, they are no longer on this planet. In his latter years, Timothy Leary took the slogan: "Say No To Drugs" and changed it to: "Say Know To Drugs". I still have one of those t-shirts.

My favorite part about him is the hardware store owner by his home said he was a diy genius and was always fixing and remodeling things at his home. Pink Floyd made sure he was taken care of via his royalties and it enabled him to live in peace and be left alone.

"Let there be more Light" Waters trying to write, because Barrett did all the previous writing.
