I think the Mothra figure would've been better if the wings were on ball joints and made of flexible plastic with a bendy wire frame to allow more dynamic poses. They should've also made a battle damaged version with a partially torn wing.

That shin is very clearly a bootleg. The details are faded, and the paint is horrible. I have one and it looks nothing like the one you have. The details are sharper, and the paint is much better. If you knew how molding bootlegs worked, you’d know how the original figure had the Toho stamp on the bottom of the foot. The people who had cast this figure did not take the time to cover it up.

To everyone thinking of replying something, read this: I know there are so many replies to this comment so let me save any future repliers some time in regards to the stamped foot argument. The Toho licensing was part of the mold, being part of the actual “sculpt” of the figure. When bootleg manufacturers make a toy they want you to think it’s real. I know the guy in the video said something like “you’d have to be a real idiot to put toho’s name on a bootleg” but it’s literally a bootleg. No part of it is legal, why not stop at keeping the original licensing on the foot. Whether they were too lazy to cover it up or intentionally kept it there, the product still isn’t authentic. Mass producing toys like this means the final product does not vary in appearance drastically at all, hence why this bootleg figure looks so different than the authentic. Not to mention the fact that this is NECA, one of the worlds leading action figure companies. They would not produce something this bad.

Another argument I keep seeing is brought up is that he ran it under hot water. NECA is a renowned toy company with access to action figure grade paint. Running an official product under hot water isn’t going to make it fade, nor is it going to make the sculpted details softer. You’d practically have to have water that’s the heat of the sun to actually achieve that as NECA’s paint fuses to the plastic.
Sure, maybe if he said he washed it in nail polish remover or rubbing alcohol then it would come out, but he obviously wouldn’t do something like that.

Even though there are better figure options out there I was really sad to learn that neca would be losing the Godzilla license because they were practically only figures I could find in stores and I do hope that they get the license back maybe even get some other characters besides Godzilla Rodan and Mothra

Maybe its a good thing I discovered these Neca Godzillas when they rereleased them in the poster art boxes. Based on many reviews, looks like the Neca figures in the movie art boxes had been repainted and some minor changes were made as well. Shin Godzilla probably had the most obvious overhaul with better paint and fixed issues with articulation.
