€2000 Car Challenge | Introducing our 200HP Volvo V40 T4! by AutoTopNL

A while ago we asked you guys, through a community post, which car we should buy for a maximum of €2000. We wanted the fastest car possible but also wanted reliability. Have we succeeded with the Volvo?

UK: Auto-Top is an honest and pure car filming and testing company. We're not interested in eco & green (unless it's like, really superfast). Love the V40 that was my first car had the late model 2003 1.9 diesel, i might actually buy that one again:) The drive was very comfortable.

Just sold my V40 T4 a few days ago, last owner drove it over 3000km with 3liters oil missing from B4194T 5.8 OIL CAPACITY still ran like a champ.

I have bought my v40 with 1, 8 engine and green body in Vlaardingen around 2-3 years ago. Loving it ever since. Now watching AutoTopNL will be more personal for me and greater fun. Have fun, have it large. Best regards.

I absolutely love my 2004 V40 2.0T Classic! Bought mine for 1100€ with 295k km last summer and had to put another 1000€ onto it to fix litlle issues. Since the fixes it has been so reliable and fun car to drive so far. Safe, comfortable and fun car!
If any of you are looking for one of these, get the 2.0T model from 03-04. You get the best performance and modernised look compared to the older ones.

Nice find! I had a V40 2.0T for 3 years and it was great. Be sure to check if the wastegate actuator still opens at the correct pressure. They tend to wear out and you won't make as much boost as you should (ask me how I know...)

This engine is actually the same engine as the T5 or the T6 from Volvo but in the S40/V40 with only four cilinders. It's called the Volvo modular engine. Like this type of video, last year I bought myself a XM V6 with 200hp and a manual gearbox for 450 euros with APK. Bodywork is pour but it is a lot of fun to have a "fast" cheap car. Cruises nice at 210km/h in Germany.
