The lore reason for why teleportation looks like this is as follows:

The Delta Labs Teleporters are reverse engineered from the Ancient Martian teleporters. Those portals instead of sending stuff instantly took a shortcut through Hell which is why you get that weird 'tunnel' sequence. It also the reason why Demons were able to invade Mars.

Audio logs: so far, most people who went through the teleported went completely mad, almost as if they went through Hell itself.

Saw a walkthrough of this game, this part always made me cringe. Reminds me of a camera going through a persons body or something like that.

This looks nothing like a teleporter in DOOM. What do you mean "they stuck to the doom format"? That's sarcasm, right?
