This G&L USA L-2000 features a swamp ash body with a honeyburst finish. The maple neck is carved to G&L's modern medium 'C' shape, and it has a maple board with a 12" radius and 21 PLEK dressed medium jumbo frets. Electronically, this bass sports not only a pair of MFD humbuckers, but also G&L's flexible Tri-Tone system. There are three mini toggles for pickup selection, series/parallel function, and active/passive operation. The knobs are volume, treble and bass. You can dial in every kind of sound imaginable on this bass. The Saddle-Lock bridge transfers string energy to the body more efficiently than standard bridges, and it also makes for quick and easy string changes. If you're looking for an American-made, all-purpose bass, the L-2000 needs to be on your radar.

The bass sounds great, although it would have been nice to indicate which pickups and settings were used for which sounds. No big deal. I have a Musicman Stingray, and a custom, non-Fender Jazz bass, but I would love to get a G&L L2000.
I also have a G&L Tribute ASAT Special guitar, and the quality and tone are superb. I think the MFD pickups were Leo's best creation.
Do I get a heavily discounted bass for being the first to comment, and saying something nice?
Just kidding.

Holy smokes! Great bass deserving a better demo and explanation! This bass can do a great P-bass sound. A great J-bass sound. You can even get a Stingray sound, and there are still 9 more sounds that are very musically useful! There are other demo's out there that are more helpful.

Seems like a great bass, but as mentioned earlier, it would be a real help to have someone modify the video so that it says what tones were associated with which setting.

I bought a L2500 Usa. Whenever I switch to active or active treble boost, there is always a distortion hessing sound. Is this common or should I send for repair? I believe it's not the strong output cos I tried even with powerful amps and I even lower the volume output. Pls help!

I always lidten to bass guitar demos via my phone " with the headphones plugged in " as you get an overall better sound than througj your phones speaker...

One issue though was the volume was fine when the gentlemen were talking but aa soon as it went to the demo the sound dropped quite a bit...

I dony know if thid is an issue with YouTube or the bassist doing the demo had the settings too quite...
I know these bass guitar's have great variations have subtle changes that can make one setting sound so much better than the previous setting but at least crank up the volume as i'd like to knw & hear how those pickups on the USA G&L L2000 sound when volume is added as ive heard of some issues with distortion on them at different setting yet the bass wasnt even turned up loud...

I was willing to put this down to a one off or a bad batch but years down the line & im still hearing about sound issues with the USA Made G&L L2000...

I've always wanted a USA built G&L L2000 as the foreign made versions have been getting bad reviews from buyer's for having inferior parts on them & parts either breaking or there is a breakage between one pickup to another or to various areas via sub par soldering which has (over time) caused connections to be severed & though an easy fix if you know what your doing this doesnt justify such poor qualify control...

Which is odd as ive bought quite a few Sterling Stingrays or Sterling CLassic Active Stingrays & the Lakland 44-02 along with other brands of american bass guitar's that are built abroad & i've had absolutely no issues...

So is it an issue with the foreign plants that build their cheaper version but if so why are the American built one's having some regular ongoing issues also!..

Any advice would be appreciated as these basses, when on form, are so underrated but ive held off owning one of the USA Built models incase they have various intermittent issues also...

In light of this still ongoing coronavirus stay safe and healthy wherever you are in this world...
