LG V30 Unboxing and First 48 Hours Impressions

I was on the fence about the LG V30 when it was announced. I was a little bummed out about the loss of the removable battery and the secondary screen. But the Quad DAC and amazing audio it offers, as well as the fact that the silver V30 looks a lot like the iPhone X Apple should have released got me curious so here's my LG V30 Unboxing and First 48 Hours Impressions. I'll be back in a little while with a full review and let you know if it's worth hanging onto.

I was working on my parents' home audio issues and accidentally hooked my v30 to their Yamaha home speakers and IT WAS ABLE TO POWER THEM. That's crazy. That's just crazy. No other amp, just the quad dac in the v30. Nuts.

Dude I get what you're saying about the headphones not being included but if you're buying an LG V30 and don't already own a pair of decent headphones you're doing it wrong.

headphones are included in the LG V30+ model with 128GB for $50 more at sprint and US cellular.
And in Korea.
I do hook my phone to the computer to load movies and lossless audio files to and from the phone. and back up.

They and all phone companies, got rid of the removable battery, not for waterproofing, as it has been done by samsung with a removable back, not for wireless charging as qualcomm has been able to charge thru glass and metal phones with wireless charging, it has been done along with careful attention to the seals that almost guarantees you damage your phone if you attempt to change the battery on newer glass back phones.

So you will buy a new phone in a year or two when yours no longer hold a charge.
That is the number one reason.
It's called planned obselense, and feel the landfill for profit.

And u know LG phones are very easy to open up and replace parts so u could probably replace the battery if the old one gets weak

Check out pocketnow audio review of the v30 . Juan compares it to a fiio 5 or 6 because he said he couldn't compare any phone to it sonically .

It doesn't have headphones because most US carriers take them out in other counties they come with earphones

LG phones have their power button on their back. You do get a earphone with the v30+ version in my country. Micro-usb to type c and usb to type 3 are also included in the package in my country ( India)

I use Smart Launcher (so i think it will work with Nova as well) and it's own theme but if you pick High Contrast in LG's Theme in settings, you can get a dark theme. I think the sides are aluminum, not steel. But, yes, the sound is amazing.

I don't quite get the iphone comments but slabs of glass and metal can only vary so much I guess.

Who would have thought you could have better quality wired audio and charging and listening at the same time without an adapter. and still have the highest quality wireless when you want it plus the MQA codec in one phone with no adapters or dongles. WOW!!!!

High contrast mode changes the settings and notifications to dark as far as I know

Dude there was wireless charging and waterproofing on phones that had removable batteries that's where we had the Samsung Galaxy S5

I wanted to pick up this phone but I'm hearing that htc is bringing a u11 plus November 2 so I will wait until then to make a final decision. Great video anyway.
