This just so happened to be the exact problem I was stuck on, so this made it possible to check pretty much all of my work so far along with solving it! Don’t worry though, I still did all the work myself by pausing the video and unpausing when I was done to check.

When the denominator has both x and y what do you do?

If x and y are in the denominator you would:

1. Set the denominator equal to zero
2. Put everything in the equation of the curve on one side so it is equal to zero
3. Since they are both equal to zero, you can set the denominator equal to your curve equation with zero on one side
4. Solve

Sorry if my explanation is poor

I was stuck on a problem like this with a y^2 and an x^3 trying to find the number of tangent lines. This helped me bucketloads. Thank you so much!

How about the y you get that you set equal to 0, don't occur in your function? Is it mean no vertical line?

Khan, it's could be perfect if you tell us essense of matrices and history of the origin of it. It's wondering how and for which porpose it's was developed? Why the multiplication of matrices looks so bizarre? Using of matrices for transformation was the first goal of creation of matrices? Thank you!

When x=0 does it also counts as coordinates? Can you do a video on how to graph it?

I get the math, but why did we wanted to make denominator=0?
