WWE 2K23 Review

WWE 2K23 reviewed by Jarrett Green on PlayStation 5, also available on PlayStation 4, Xbox, and PC.

Whether you want to experience a TV-inspired story of young wrestling talent rising to glory or take a guided tour of John Cena's most humbling moments, WWE 2K23 is worth pinning down. It’s at least incrementally better in almost every way from last year’s entry in that combat feels more rewarding, flexible, and consequential. Where it overachieves, like in MyGM, it starts to finally restore the feeling that we could be on the ramp watching a new golden age of pro wrestling games make its glorious entrance.

For universe mode fans, the rivalry actions give so much more weight and build up to the matches. Its been hours of fun for me!

Hit dection needs an improvement. I'm tired of randomly wiffing attacks or having them randomly miss for no reason.

Was a big fan of the PS2 games, smackdown vs raw, my last game was 2k14 on PS3, I'll be jumping back in cause of the legends in this game even though it's missing the rock 98, it's got enough for me to enjoy

The miz and Jbl are missing from show case mode given the fact the miz only beat him due to the rock. And for JBL, Cena beat him at mania and they had one more feud after that where cena won as well

Best game they've made in a while, it is coming dangerously close to beating 2k19 on consoles to me. The AI improvements are huge this year.

If you run out of stamina the last thing you wanna do is stand back and relax, if you hit one of your taunt buttons that will regain your stamina a lot faster. Cheer to the crowd, taunt your enemies they all work

WE WANT CHAIN WRESTLING BACK, WE WANT TO REMOVE WRESTLING STRAPS, WE WANT FACE PAINT FADE, WE WANT RUNNING IRSH WHIPS. 2k19 did so many things better that the bar for wwe 2k games are now high. wwe2k19 really was the best wwe2k game, I'm not expecting anything better from this tbh

Potential ideas and changes for WWE 2k to make their next game better.
1. Remove height restrictions increase height to 8ft. For example making legendary wrestlers like Andre the giant, and Giant Gonzalez accurate height.
2. Increase weight to 600lbs, make it that smaller wrestlers can’t pick up heavier ones. For example Rey Mysterio can’t duplex yokozuna, fix strength limit
3. Community Creations increase caws slots to 200.
