They aren't aiming for the fire, they are spraying down the unburned ones to minimize the spread later on

The men driving those tractors to move the cars surely felt all the heat. Brave men like the firefighters.

Something like 10 years ago the Milliron wrecking yard in Mansfield OHIO caught fire and you could smell the wiring burning thirty miles away on the hill here for 3 days . Big stinky fire and they drained all the fluids when the cars are taken to the you pick it yard .

So many people clearly have zero firefighting experience, but that still doesn't stop them from exhibiting their ignorance....

The fire is out. It is a smoldering pile of metal and plastic as of now. The L.A Sheriff closed down I and division streets. The smoke was as black as a 5 tornado. This was in Lancaster, Ca. Eighty miles northeast of Los Angeles and it was 108 degrees in the high desert. Yes Los Angeles county has a desert and it was somewhat lucky that it was not 118 degrees days ago. Eat your heart Phoenix and Las Vegas.

Looks like the pipe ladder water stream is just a tad short of the 🔥

Why didn't they use tanker aircraft like CA uses for wildfires? The hoses obviously weren't even reaching the majority of the flames.

That helicopter flying around isn't helping the situation, every time it passes over it fuels the fire with more oxygen!

If I live downwind of that I'd be getting the hell out of there that smoke is really toxic with all that plastic vinyl burning

Such places should be protected by on site fire protection, they should also be protected by 10ft grid fire walls..

Kind of like when a kid’s unable to hit the inside of a toilet.

Looks like several separate fires have started in this Salvage yard.

It looks like they have a water supply problem and are reduced to limiting the spread. Soak down the firebreak while you have flow, be ready to call for water when it starts getting loose. If I recall, Lancaster is semi-rural and just doesn't have the infrastructure the main cities have. That they have called in water drops makes it clear they are having water supply issues. They are doing a very good job keeping the fire corralled in a corner of the junkyard.
