Look, I'm not trying to denigrate what this guy and the committee think they accomplished, but it boggles my mind why they needed to meet until midnight and then again the next day to come up with this 32-team field. Most conferences were already decided, a few came down to a winner take all game, and the 5 at-larges isn't Rocket Science. It took me about 8-10 minutes last Friday to come up with 31 of the 32 teams. The ONLY ONE I missed was I had 9-1 #18 Johns Hopkins IN as an at-large over 9-1 and unranked Utica, which I will STAND BY. In other games I had Winner Albion/Alma in, loser out, or St. Johns/Bethel Winner in, loser at-large, etc. Then for the most part the regions are dictated by location, so that is almost set as well. I saw a couple of surprises, like why is 8-2 Wheaton (IL) hosting a round 1 game? Why are there several Round 1 games featuring 0-loss teams facing each other, and then others with 2-loss teams squaring off in round 1? Of the 4 brackets, 2 have a total of 5-losses amongst the teams (North Central and Mt Union brackets)-much tougher brackets and the other 2 have 9 total losses? UWW and MHB brackets which are significantly easier?
