The boiled linseed oil is the money shot for very beautiful work....

I do a lot of hand filing, and one of my favorites is a shinto rasp, it's saw blades in a crisscross pattern and it is both very fast for rasping, and very pleasant to use. With all the hand filing and hand tools it might be a good addition to your collection. Anyhow, great work as always :)

That curly white oak is absolutely stunning. My bench is made from mostly white oak, it's a fantastic species.

VERY NICE JOB! Beautiful piece. The bigger brass pin in the middle looks fine. But, sounds like you and that BLO need to get a room.

Incredible work love the different types of wood came out fantastic. The BLO was very satisfying :) And I have to say that was a great Dad joke, definitely going to use that that for now on lmao 😂. Take Care

Hey James, don't know if you still check the comments on older videos, but a toothing plane would also work well for adding texture to the scales for gluing, right? I'd be surprised if you didn't have one, but it's also possible you wanted to make the project look more accessible for those who don't have one.

Also, the BLO on that curly white oak is stupid gorgeous. Holy crap.

Great job on that knife. That combination of wood came out beautiful. The only thing I would have done differently would've been to round the handle instead of making it octagonal, but that's just personal preference. Again, great job, James.

Is there a way you could do a video or segment of a video on rifflers? Would like to get more information on them.

Does BLO work on stabilised wood just as well as it does on "raw" wood?

That curly oak though! I have some big pieces of curly european oak laying around (it's mostly knot actualy but there is a lot of curl as well) what could I make from it?

For kitchen use, how is it sharpened ? A knife sharpening rod or "steel" ? Thanks...

If only you would give this to George Takeii, you could title the playlist of forging the knife and making the handles "Sulu's Ulu".
