Releasing Cygnus (timelapse)

Timelapse showing the Orbital Science's Cygnus Orb-2 spacecraft departing from the International Space Station on 15 August 2014.

ESA astronaut Alexander Gerst set up a camera to shoot a series of photographs whilst he and his Expedition 40 colleague NASA's Reid Wiseman operated the Station's robotic arm to manoeuvre the visiting cargo spacecraft into position for release.

A couple of days later, Cygnus Orb-2 burnt up in Earth's atmosphere during a destructive reentry.

What amazing times we live in. My parents (who both died by 1972), would barely credit this, (or mobile phones). Imagine my Grandfather, he was a chauffeur when you did not need a driving license !!  THIS little beauty, CYGNUS, was launched on my 71st Birthday. 15th of August 2014. It felt like a present. To actually see it happen too. Just breathtaking.

I feel as though I belong already commander. I see that we have made it to our purge point and we are allowed to see the parts coming together better now that we have out vision restored as a population on a planet in deep space somewhere . Stay safe and seek perfection . May all the experiences of this habitation contain a part of what we need to succeed . Life is what I know and require.

Would dismantling/recycling parts of it cost more than effectively destroying it and making a new one?
