DJI Avata 2 Honest Review - TESTED to its LIMITS by FPV Expert

Finally managed to test the new Dji Avata 2, the drone is definitely an update especially the new O4 camera, but the other gear is a bit hit and miss...

Dji blocked the old ham_cfg file and it doesn't work anymore to unlock FCC, only extra channels once FCC is active

As a retired aircraft pilot, that has used a side stick for thousands of hours, the motion controller is fantastic. Learning curve for new people to drone flying is the main reason I think it's included. The skills the presenter demonstrates at high speeds with the 'standard' controller were exceptional.

He must have years of experience to fly like he did. Very small Percentages of users therefore need the 'precision' he demonstrates, I simply don't want to take those risks, and find the hand controller perfect for the kind of safe flying I can enjoy.

I don't see motion3 as a useless gimmick. The motion3 showed me the first experience of FPV and motivated me to learn FPV with the RC Controller as well. Learned it in Flyoff and continued in the air outside. For the rest a nice video.

I am so impressed when it comes to steep diving with the Avata 2 over the Avata 1 it flies down so much more smoothly and a lot better. The Avata 1 will struggle shack and generally freak out when you do the same. They actually made it better in Normal and Sports Mode to use the motion lotion controller over the Controller 2 & 3.

Hi Andrea, Avata 2 has C1 class and 19 m/s velocity limitation. 19:31 Did you use FCC mod to achieve high speed or it was just a wind? You mentioned less power - looks like DJI limited speed by the power output and outside EU should be much better.

Everyone complains about the frontcamera of the goggles. Yes, its a bit zoomt in, but i found myself using this feature once every flight. Its super usefull. If you have a tickle on your arm, you just press emergency break on the dron, smash two times against your googles and you can look if theres a bug on your arm. Also the 3D Feature is awesome... sometimes i just walk around my apartment with the 3D feature.

Thank you for honestly pointing out the good and the not so good things you discovered. I'd already ordered my Avata 2 prior to seeing your video and you helped put my mind at ease with your candor. I've been flying the Mini 3 Pro for 2 years now and am so looking forward to my first FPV. Living on the waters edge of Vancouver Island, I love flying up and down the shore filming the waves as they come in. I'm really looking forward to feeling like I'm right there where the action is with the FPV.

I like that you name things like you see them: The "motion ontroller" a "marketing gimmik" and that you call the automatic roll function "useless". And I loved to hear you say "I am scared of drone who fly automatically". It's the best summing up of all these gimmiks. Great video!!

I bought it knowing I wouldn't like the motion controller. The gimbal is what sold me. Being able to adjust it on the fly without having to build some servo based monstrosity is gold.
