One of the strongest most athletic people I’ve ever known was a guy named Matt. Matt was a Junior in highschool when I was a freshman. For two years I watched from the stands at home football games as Matt absolutely dominated at the running back position. He was so fast, so strong and so agile, he made players on the opposing team look like toddlers- keep in mind this was class 5A varsity football. After Matt graduated high school he went on to play division 2 college football on a full scholarship and was a great player and student there. Graduated with a 4.0 and full honors. This would have been in 2019. Flash forward one year, fall of 2020, the pandemic is in full swing, but vaccines are becoming widely available, recommended, and required of people in certain situations. Matt decided he needed to get it as he was planning on going into the medical field. A month after getting it, I find out on social media Matt had passed away. Died in his sleep at the young age of 23. A perfectly healthy young male, in exceptional shape- dies in his sleep at 23. RIP Matt.
