Certain colors from certain years are way more brittle than your average Lego. Older brown is the most famous example

fun fact, the old brown pieces are the most brittle. its something to do with the way they used to be made in the factory. i think it was to do with the colours being difficult to mix in with the rest of the plastic resin

Brown is the most fragile Lego color so you did a pretty great job with how few brow bricks broke

Brown legoes are actually more brittle over time because of the color chemical

The reason those pieces are breaking is because the brown pieces from around 2008 to 2013 had paint that made the plastic easier to break same thing with dark brown and dark red
