I loved that this story came around full circle -- and Joey was in the center of it by telling the backpacking story to Ross to help Ross end his "dry spell "and then admitting to Monica & Chandler that he uses the pseudonym "Ken Adams" to avoid people while suggesting that the couple's new friends were doing the same.

The whole time rachel knew she came onto Ross. Yet for no good reason lies to her friends and tries to make Ross look bad. Ross, knowing the truth and that at least Joey knows the Europe story, acts like a saint and gives Rachel an out.

Why doesn’t Rachel apologize for the lies and using it to belittle him (yet again)? Rewatching friends bc I used to love it but as I’ve gotten older & understand respect and love I’m finding it a lot harder to ignore the blatant disrespect of supposed friends to get to the laughs. There are some episodes I have to skip now bc it’s not funny- like for the 100th time Rachel acts like Ross, who is an intelligent, kind, well established (he’s a professor at a great school and a world renowned museum), attractive man is beneath her because what, she was popular in high school and pretty? She keeps using the fact that he’s been in love w her and his kindness and I’m sick of it.
