Kargil Diwas: Army organises motorcycle rally, musical evening at Udhampur HQ

Celebrations began in Jammu & Kashmir to mark the 22 years of victory in Kargil War. Army's Northern Command organised a 2-day motorcycle rally to commemorate Vijay Diwas. Northern Command chief Lt Gen YK Joshi is leading the 25-biker team from Udhampur. The 'Dhruv Kargil Ride' will end at Kargil War Memorial in Drass of Ladakh. As part of Kargil Vijay Diwas 2021, a solemn ceremony was organised in Udhampur on Wednesday. J&K's 'Shaurya Band' joined Northern Command at Udhampur to present a musical evening. As per a statement by the Army, the celebration was organised to honour heroes of Kargil War. Northern Command chief Lt Gen YK Joshi & other Army veterans attended the event. Covid protocols were strictly followed during the entire event, the statement added. Indian armed forces had defeated Pakistan in Kargil on July 26, 1999.
