Nearly 2 million people in northern Nigeria have been forced to flee their homes due to internal conflict. In October 2017 the International Rescue Committee president David Miliband went to Borno state to hear the stories and the needs of Nigeria's most vulnerable people. The IRC is on the ground providing health and education programs, access to clean water and safe spaces for women and children.

The International Rescue Committee helps people whose lives and livelihoods are shattered by conflict and disaster to survive, recover and gain control of their future.
