Careful Mike opening a detail business isn't easy as it seems. City or county will require to install a concrete pad to recycle the water you use to avoid water pollution

Idk man. Might be better off adding a detail bay at your existing building. No drainage at the new spot. Saw dust everywhere. You'll be finding more saw dust months after cleaning. If it rains for a day or two straight, you'll wish you had an indoor bay.

Make sure you check local rules and regulations on running a detail shop. In some places washing cars commercially can cause you to have to follow environmental rules. Like having a catch basin with an oil separator for the runoff.

Congratulations Mike! Too bad I live far away from you (south Texas) if not, I would definitely would be a regular at your new detailing business!

Congratulations the only concern is no drains in the building. Outside is alright 9 months out of the year. Squeeze out the door will cause doors to freeze down along with ice on the driveway. Been there done that. Good luck. Wish you the best.

That space is way way nicer than my first space!! Lol it will more than work. Very cool! Respect to the detailer, hard to do a car for $200 if you have low staff, low volume, and any type overhead.
The hardest part...finding staff.

Congratulations Mike! Sounds like a great addition to your empire! *LOL* You might want to see if there's any auto clubs nearby, and sponsor them to get the word around, AND their members would take their cars to you! (we have a local one that sponsors our auto club).

There must be a lot you are not telling us. I don't see the justification for a second location, I would think you should be able to do it all in the existing building or with a small addition to the existing building. Managing two locations will be a huge stress that could be avoided.

That is awsome news and wish I lived up there I would apply to work for you and your wife. Been following you for over a year and you are down to earth and no sugar coating at all. Best of luck to you and the family. Can't wait to see the new business take off.

Congrats!Ceramic Pro is the bomb…
My Tesla Model X and my Toyota FJ Cruiser both have Ceramic Pro 5 year coatings and I cannot speak highly enough of the quality. Congrats! Good move!

I am sure you have already looked into this but the EPA has some pretty strict rules about businesses like detailing because you are dealing with a lot of chemicals. You can't just wash it all into the dirt behind your shop. You will need drains and all that goes with that.

Mike, make sure what your city, county requirements are for storm water, and car wash water run off is since its not going into a treated recepticle.

I detail cars in Ohio.A Great option in the winter is to use a product called ONR I actually use it year round. Its a no rinse car wash. Its also polymer wash which is better for not leaving microscratches.
