If they have your car for months to fix a recall, they should have to make your payment until its fixed.

'Cox 049'... I haven't heard that since the 1970's. Brings back good memories.

It took Ford almost 3 years to get the passenger airbag recall fix on my Ranger. The appointment is next week!

And guess what? The new 5.0L oil pump in the F150 is also belt driven. I bet that will go well.

Rubber band oil pump drive … A rubber belt submerged in engine oil, what could go wrong 😑

"Cox 049" What great memories! My first gas powered control line plane was a Piper Cub. Got for my birthday in about 1957. Nice throwback reference.

The Cox .049 reference made me laugh... I remember having a dinky RC plane powered by a Cox .049.

@Steve Lehto I just want to comment on your perception of the small car. My Wife and I ( in Ontario) had Suzuki Swift 2 door hatchback in the early 90's. It had a .9 Litre 3 cylinder engine. Her brother joked about it having a smaller engine than his motorcycle, which was also small. It was one of the greatest cars we ever had. I think we only paid about $6000CAD for it NEW. It got at least 35 mpg on the highway. Fantastic commuter car, and when you folded the back seat down, it had tremendous cargo area. we drove it all over Ontario for camping. we once traveled 8hrs away with everything we needed for a week standing camp trip, including two full sized mountain bikes INSIDE the car, and came back with more. Yes, the HP was low, but we weren't looking to haul lumber, or to set speed records. Just get to work and back. As long as the car fits the functional requirements, what else is needed? With the high mileage, these little cars could be a alternative to electric in low serviced areas, if we built more of them.

Steve, I have an Ecosport that is under this recall. The engine is a 1.0 litre 3 cyl. turbo, not a 4. Just fyi. Really love your videos and look forward to them!

I had a safety recall on my Jeep. The clutch could explode and cause a fire and kill occupants. I had the notice last February and just LAST WEEK got the clutch replaced. Jokes on them, though. I spent the week prior teaching people how to drive stick knowing I'd get a new clutch.

Yesrs ago I heard a local radio announcer doing a live read commercial for a motorcycle where he said that it had 65 foot "L" "B" "S" of torque. Yes; he pronounced the three letters seperately. He not only didn't know what torque was, he also didn't know that "lbs" stood for "pounds"

My Son is a Ford master thech. He replaces so many of the 1.0 and 1.5 engines. Wait until the oil pumps driven by a rubber belt off the crank in the oil sump immersed in oil, start failing on the new engines. They are nonserviceable and are starting to fail at about 50K miles.

Belt and oil pump, words that should never go together.

I worked in the aerospace industry for 49 both as a mechanic, electrician, and a technical trainer/tech writer. All of our training guides and tech data referred to it as foot pounds and inch pounds.

Come talk to the Fisker Ocean owner, we have three recalls issued, but no company to fix ‘em.

A couple of things. We don't know if the woman tried contacting For Corporate herself. It's possible her specific issue never made it beyond the dealership. Second thing -- From the article, Ford describes the engine replacement as "an interim repair." That sounds like the engines that Ford have available still have the defective part, which will still need replacing once the redesigned part becomes available. This is probably why Ford didn't offer this in the first place.

It was always Foot Pounds in all the books.

We are of same generation, I grew up fixing vehicles/heavy equipment, now an attorney.

The part you're missing with the new engine Steve is they still have that same defective part, they will still have to get you back and change out that part on the new engine they install.
