How many countries have been invaded by the UK?

Over the last 1000 years, the British Empire has been pretty active on the world stage, getting involved in all kinds of conflicts. But just how many countries have actually been invaded by the British? According to Stuart Laycock’s book "All the Countries We’ve Ever Invaded", this number amounts to 178 countries or 90% of all countries currently part of the United Nations.
