If your boats' maximum outboard rating is that same as any of Honda's latest iterations of V-TEC outboard, then you're in for a treat.
VTEC is ok on land in passenger cars designed to be 1000 things in one package. In their focused cars, i.e. Civic SI's of old, or Type R's, VTEC comes on so violently that you ask yourself some serious questions pertaining to how you could have ever doubted this company - which - at face value, I admit, seems like a boring practical old person manufacturer, but once you experience how much urgency that 2nd cam profile is your pre-conceived notions will be eradicated.
All new for 2017 is the Honda BF100 outboard. it's 100 pounds lighter than 115hp 4 stroke from the other manufacturers, has VTEC, and can rev to 6300RPM, making it one of the highest revving outboards. It weighs around what you'd expect a 75 or 90hp 4 stroke outboard to weigh, and in fact is lighter than some 75hp 4 strokes out today.
So it can (and should) be fitted to every boat rated for 90hp ASAP and those owners should put videos of the holeshot up xD
