+1 for mono parts 👍. I make mono my default state for recording so the decision to go stereo for a part is always intentional - there has to be a reason. Stacking a bunch of stereo parts is the shortcut to a narrow unfocused mix. The warning sign is the urge to place a stereo widener on the mix bus 😂

Valuable advice - thank you so much! You mentioned using mono in one of your recent full-length videos and after hearing you say so again, I've resolved to try that on my next project. 👍👍

Splits makes wonders as well, usually focusing bass sounds better

Super useful information.
Actually something I am doing with patches, for my live shows, where I play with other musicians.
Something I had to change, from when I am solo, and have to fill up all the sound spectrum.
Thanks for sharing.

it bothers me that YT Shorts have given me better advice than all of the 20-90min videos ive watched over the years

In contrast, with repetitive music, I find I’m adding modulation to just about every track. Subtle panning. Small filter modulation. Volume modulation. Maybe my point is that the complexity comes in the mix?

Even though the matriarch has gobs of oscillators, I often use just one!

Print in. mono.
Do mean placing them in physical space in the stereo field? I ask because I’m beginning to tinker with Binaural software.
Thanks
Are you getting enough to eat?
