Aaron Bastani meets Owen Jones | It will be 'off the scale' hysteria

The above tweet from Owen Jones set off an inferno amongst the British journalist milieu. Aaron Bastani spoke to him about the media, privilege and what 'groupthink' really is.

An excellent interview. As someone from a working-class background in South Wales, the barriers against us are enormous to enter professions of public influence. The social and economic odds are stacked against ordinary folk. Class struggle is real.

Introduce a Government funded internship grant for students from low-income households and non-fee paying schools. The BBC should be made to have a massive Diversity scheme for low-income students from non-fee paying schools. Threaten to fine any media organisation that doesn't have a similar Internship scheme for low-income students from non-fee paying schools.

Owen’s argument is demonstrated admirably by Have I Got News For You, which mentioned his argument against Newsnight’s coverage of Jeremy Corbyn, to great hilarity, giving the impression that Owen had a “meltdown”, and was demonstrably “mad”.
