Recording Conversations in Texas

Texas is a single-party consent state, meaning only one person who is a party to the conversation needs to consent to the recording for it to be legal. That one person can be you, meaning you don’t need to get permission from the people you’re speaking with to record them. Alternatively, the people you’re speaking with can record you without your consent.

So be careful out there, because your privacy rights don’t always protect conversations you think are private.

Thank you my HR started yelling at me in the office saying that they will call the cops on me if I record the conversation. They both started to yell at me and continue to say they will keep me out of the premises

What about being lied to about audio surveillance by my employer and him picking up very personal audio without disclosing to me that he was using audio to begin with. Does that violate any privacy laws ?

This is just a very small piece of information. Very significant but barely opens the gates to many other questions:
What happens if you disseminate that information to others?
What if you secretly record your conversation with your doctor? lawyer?

I get the one party consent law in texas with the exception of what if you do not wish to be recorded. Your used more as a marketing prop, you take no part of conversing within the video, and then your image is used within the recording on a social platform. How does one go about protecting there image?

Does 'one person who is a party to the conversation' include someone who is there but not actively participating to the conversation during the recording? e.g. 3 or more people are having a conversation but the person recording the conversation does not speak during the recording, would they still be considered a person who is party to it despite not contributing in the recording?
