Yakuza - Pledge Of Demon / Oath Of Enma (Special Edit)

"The Yakuza game, it's not like boxing. The man who gets beat down isn't the loser. The guy who can't tough it out to the end, he's the one who loses."

"In the yakuza life, there are no KO's. I'll tell you what, Kiryu. To me, a finger or two don't mean shit. Having Awano or Shibusawa beat me to the captain's spot? Couldn't give a fuck... As long as I'm alive, I'll keep getting back up for more. Which is why you... A half-ass like you's the one thing I can't stand. Now DIE, you little shit!"

I love how Kuze doesn't get any waifus in this one. He doesn't need them, he is in a league of waifus of his own.

I’m convinced that “Pledge of Demon” is just pure testosterone in the form of a song.

Where as “Oath of Enma” is a man on his last legs ready to accept defeat, but won’t go down without a proper fight.

Comments are saying that Kuze doesn't have waifus because he doesn't need them. He literally got a tattoo of his waifu on his back.

God that sewer scene still gives me chills.

I love how Majima ended up emulating Nishitani and Kiryu picked up lessons from Kuze. All I want is a scene where Kuze reacts to what Kiryu became. That would be amazing.

Before any of you say anything about Kuze being a waifu. Kuze still has his morals, his pride as man and as a fighter. So, the technical term is chad.

What makes Kuze so good, is how he's a real person. He isn't a Herculean god with unparalleled physical strength like Kiryu or Amano, he really does have the build of a boxer or UFC fighter, and it's his knowledge of the fight that allows him to go toe to toe with Kiryu and escape relatively unscathed.
He is also a reflection of Kiwami Kiryu, in design especially, with their shared belief that they must follow through with what they desire - Kuze yearning for power, and Kiryu wanting to protect his family. He takes off his jacket to reveal Enma (judge of the underworld) because he believes that he has the right to decide Kiryu's fate, to judge him; but in his final fight with Kiryu, he leaves it on, he knows who Kiryu is, he knows he has lost his right to decide Kiryu's fate and that he has unleashed a 'monster' on the world. It wouldn't surprise me if someone had called Kuze this when he first debuted as a boxer, but like how he 'misjudged' Kiryu at the start of 0, he does so again now - before thinking Kiryu was worthless, and now thinking Kiryu is heartless; when in reality Kiryu's humanity will always keep on the right path. Again Kiryu is a reflection of what Kuze considers a 'real' yakuza, who will do what he must to get what he wants, and for the first time Kuze isn't strictly wrong - he just doesn't understand that what Kiryu wants isn't his own success snd power, but a happy life for the people he loves.

Kuze is my favourite lieutenant because he was telling the kiryu truth, Kiryu was thinking so noble about Yakuza life, he was thinking like it was a box match and when you lose you have to get out, but you should fight as long as you are alive if you choose that kind of life, just like Majima

After he met Kuze he thinks different tho imo

Best thing about Kuze's actor, he's really badass in real life, and is in incredible shape too.

There are many reasons why Kuze is my favourite Yakuza character. And clearly people at RGG love him too giving him two different boss themes.

Tyrus's edits are so good, he turned Kuze from a vintage Japanese actor to a Japanese Netflix actor.

I loved kuze's boss's fights especially his final fight as it shows how much kiryu had grown since the beginning of the game

I really love how Kuze and Kiryu parallel eachother, Kuze's whole being shaped by being a Yakuza, and, to see how easily Kiryu would discard it just to save those close to him, it angers him to the core. And, only after their 4th fight did he starts seeing how, while differing in their beliefs, Kiryu's are just as strong as his own. It also might be a stretch, but the fact that Kuze's fuckin glasses tell a lot about him(First fight him being proud and keeping em on, second fight discarding em because Kiryu's a threat, 3rd fight keeping em on because he still refuses to see past Kiryu's "weak beliefs", and coming off the 4th fight by Kiryu's punch, not to return in the 5th, as he recognises him as a true Yakuza)...God, this game was such a golden trip.
I didn't mind fighting him 5 times at all.

I'm so glad that you're venturing into the epicness that is Yakuza! Another bad ass song from 0 that's not as noticebly epic but equally awesome is t.u.s.k.

OK, not gonna lie...this Kuze special hits harder than even Kiryu's.
and that's sayin' something, especially when you specialize in making
music arrangements & remixes of characters that have that kinda energy
which goes real hard when listened to.
