A quick video on my thoughts of the AR.Drone

I used to own an AR Drone. As I recall, it has an default altitude limitation set at around 20 feet. You can go into the app on your phone and turn this limitation off, or set it to a different altitude.

Aa some people say already in the comments: there are many limitations in the software settings that you can change. Altitude limit is one of them. Check these and give another chance to this drone. I own one and it's giving a lot of fun. And flies pretty high.

I did a whole video on AR Drone mods called "AR Drone / GoPro DIY Aerial Video Mods" butr decided it's just too weak, even at sea level. I could get a gopro on it and recording OK video, but man the parts are too expensive, and it takes forever to replace parts on the AR Drone. I've moved onto the over-engineered XP2 from XProHeli, and love it.

Sounds like you are flying in indoor mode. Check your settings. I have one of these. Definitely a toy but interesting starter kit for someone looking to get into quads . I am building an octocopter so interested in your insights.

since you get a lot of things from hobbyking, could you do a review of the ideafly ifly 4 quad? it would be nice if you could also review the gimbal that goes with it. keep up the great work!!!!

You can get a mod for it called mirumod so you can use a usual controller you can also pilot with a pc.

Hello guys, i have one, and i love it. You can not compare it with another qadcopters, this one is a toy compared to diy quadcopters. When props are well calibrated you loose the jello effect. You can see my Drove Videos here, some are very good and very high, i never tested the payload.

i had the 1.0 ar drone and to be honest it is just not worth it due to the risk of fly away which is extremely prevalent
