The New Illiberalism: The American Media and the Future of Democracy

In 2023, James Bennet, a senior editor at The Economist and former editorial page editor at the New York Times, published “When the New York Times Lost Its Way.” The essay described the events that led to his dismissal from the New York Times in 2020.
