With hindsight, would you rank the Canes higher than 8th now? Not trashing your rankings or anything, I think you had good reasons for all of your picks, just curious if their play has changed your mind. The Devils had the third best PP% in the league in the regular season and their PP% against the Canes was 0% (and net PP% was -6.7% because not only did they not score a single PPG, they allowed a shorthanded goal). So far, the Canes have the second best PP in the playoffs at 33.3%, the best PK at 95.5% (and 100% net PK), 3.25 GF/GP, 1.88 GA/GP, most shots for, fewest shots against, I mean they’re just dominating their opponents so far.

not to be any kind of way, but remember; Playoffs are not gonna be like the regular season. just because you do well in the season, doesn't mean you're gonna sweep the playoffs in any kind of way. it's an entirely different beast.

Good to see the Habs in the P/O's. I think they will give the Caps all they can handle. The Jets are solid through out the line up and could be good enough to win it all. They definitely have something to prove. The Sens could very well upset the Leaf's

I agree with almost the full list except for the bolts. They have probably the best top 9 in the league, Vasilevsky is a dawg and the 1st pair is elite. They are 4th in my ranking

Not sure I agree with where every team is, but it's interesting and refreshing to see a new perspective :)

I'm gonna disagree and say that TB is way low. My reasons: TB is second in goal diff, first in GF p/g, third in GA p/g, third in net PK %, second best 5v5 goal ratio. Also, I think you're way underestimating their forward depth. If Cirelli can get three goals in the last three games, this will be the first team since '93 to have five 30 goal scorers. I'd argue it's one of the best teams in the league for top 3 forward line depth. Lastly, Vasi is the 2nd best goalie in the NHL and best playoff goalie in the NHL.

It's actually the defense I'm more worried about. After Hedman there's no other offensive weapon. At least it's a solid defensive zone group but I'm a little worried about depth. Also, the PP is great at scoring but leads the league in SHGA. Vasi's save % is lower for the PP than the PK which is crazy to me, but they give up a lot of high quality chances with only one D man back there. Lastly, they do have a tough path. Florida is great obviously and a potential Toronto in R2 is their kryptonite. All that said, I think they're a top 5 team.

I believe whoever comes out of Colorado vs. Dallas and Florida vs. Tampa faces each other in the Stanley Cup finals. Vegas and Washington both could make it to the Stanley Cup Finals but will likely see an opponent in the conference finals who is simply too overpowering. Toronto and Winnipeg could both easily ride home-ice advantage to the SCF but could just as easily not make it past the conference finals.

I'm a big Habs fan, but not much of a fan of the other 6 Canadian teams. Having said that, I do believe this is the year the Canada cup drought gets broken, which currently is at 32 years.

No one works or tries harder than Kucherov. His issue is he has such high standards and gets frustrated thinks he can do the impossible sometimes and then tries to do more. Usually he comes around pretty quickly.
