The launch crew does not set the flight path for the missiles. Target data is kept confidential from the crew and is directly coded to the missile via the entry of an authenticated launch code. Different codes will have different target packages. This is done to remove a sense of guilt from the missile launch crew as they would have no idea where their missiles were headed.

Please note: The older Minuteman 3 carried three MIRVs. Modern Fielded Minuteman 3s only carry one Reentry Vehicle. Warhead is W87 from the retired Peacekeeper missile.

I have googled and cannot find an answer to my question: How do the MIRVS find their targets? I can find no mention of navigation systems on the MIRVS, which suggests that it's the bus that does the driving and at the desired location, the MIRVs are let loose.... but that would suggest that MIRVS are all intended for one target. So from up in space, the bus basically aims and fires the MIRVs and their reaching the vicinity of the intended target is based on how on-target the bus was from way up in space? It's like a conventional B52 dropping dumb, unguided bombs... but from hundreds of kilometers above the ground???
