Is soo confusing how some people find their relationship weird, like, not blood related, didn't grow up together, their parents marriage didn't even last 5 years, he is literally there just cause he enjoys the life the her dad provides 😂 josh and cher have a nice relationship and I'm glad they end up together

The wisdom of Cher's father is tremendous.

He appreciates real world application more than grades.

He communicates with his daughter even when busy.

I wish my father had those philosophy and priorities. I feel so jealous I didn't have those. People call me weak for still blaming my parents for my OC, untrusting, dysfunctional personality but sometimes you just don't get over trauma.

Remember how Cher and her dad just casually talks about love and boys? Cher is one lucky daughter to have a dad like that...

It would have made so much more sense to say “ He is my ex wife’s son” rather than “He is your step BROTHER” I think that simple change would have made it a lot less creepy.The word brother- regardless of what kind -is what makes me uncomfortable

She tells him about her feelings without actually telling him. She speaks with her body language. The way she is comfortable around him, sitting close to him etc

In all fairness, her dad was amazing. He stepped up for Josh even though he's divorced to his mom. He's busy but he tries to communicate with Cher the best he can.

3:19 if you go a little further in that scene when josh leaves to the party her father had that look 👀 like he knew it and he was trying to help them come together

I love how the movie shows even the little things that indicates they low key have feeling for each other, like how he always laughs at her jokes, looked at her coming down the stairs when she was going on her date and the scene where she took out her braids and he took off his cap bevause they were "embarrassed" or cared about which person thought about the other.


Also I can see how people must think its strange how they used to be step sibling but their parents relationship was nothing serious andb probably just a fling when they were kids. Sometimes I think of how itd be if theyre parents actually did end up together and if theyd still have feeling for one another or if it would be different, but still, they are not blood related and barely grew up with each other. In my opinion, I think their parents relationship was just the way of the universe for them to meet each other--

When Josh moms married Cher Dad she already had Josh. Cher mom is dead. Then the parents got divorced, but Cher Dad still loves Josh like a son, so that is why Josh is still around. So they are not related by any blood nor any type of marriage since the parents are divorced. So at the end of the day it is not weird, no blood, no marriage 👏

Contrary to how the film portrays her character as being superficial or airhead, she has high level of emotional intelligence.
