About Metroid Dread:
Metroid Dread is an action-adventure game developed by MercurySteam and Nintendo EPD, released on October 8, 2021, for the Nintendo Switch. Set after Metroid Fusion (2002), players control bounty hunter Samus Aran as she faces a robotic enemy on the planet ZDR. It retains the side-scrolling gameplay of previous 2D Metroid games and adds stealth elements.

Dread was conceived as a Nintendo DS game in the mid-2000s, but was canceled due to technical limitations. Industry commentators expressed interest in a new 2D Metroid game, and listed Dread in their "most wanted" lists. After their work on Metroid: Samus Returns in 2017, longtime producer Yoshio Sakamoto appointed MercurySteam to develop Dread, the first original side-scrolling Metroid game since Fusion. Nintendo announced the game at E3 2021. It received positive reviews.

I remember jumping all over the room because my perfectionist soul gets triggered all the time when I see that the map I'm currently looking at is unfilled by one miserable pixel.

I always do this, it's part of why I always have 3 Energy Tanks when I fight Kraid instead of 2 (since I always do the Grapple Beam-Bombs-Kraid sequence break, one Energy Part is in Dairon where you do that sequence break and the other two you should find normally on your playthrough even without sequence breaking).

Why would you?

It's not a particularly impressive stunt, you just ran through a small cold area: something you had to do with some hot areas in Other M.

Hell the built-in speed booster puzzles are more impressive than that.

And it only gets you 1/4th of an energy tank. It's not even like its a useful sequence break.

So, basically, you got a piece of an Energy Tank a little earlier than you normally would because you remembered you could easily run through this little cold area.

You need to go this way to get the screw attack sequence break

After doing my dread mode run seeing you get hurt gave me a heart attack

I never did this when I played, but I did do this in Dairon to get early Supers cause I like cheesing bosses with maximum damage

It's a very brief helheim run (what I've dubbed ice sections without the varia/gravity suit, since hot sections are called hell runs, at least by speedrunners) for fuck-all reward. Now, there's a longer helheim run that you can do, though I think it requires an E-tank or two to survive, but you can get screw attack dummy hella early too
