Introducing Prequel's NEW Pre-Gleanse Cleansing Oil! | Dr. Sam Ellis

As a fan of double cleansing, I'm excited to introduce you to Prequel's newest product, the Pre-Gleanse Cleansing Oil intended to be used as a first cleanse. Pre-Gleanse is an oil based, first cleanse formulated to dissolve makeup, excess sebum, sunscreen and other impurities without clogging pores or stripping the skin. This formula rinses clean and is suitable for all skin types, even those with acne-prone skin. Pre-Gleanse is intended to be used prior to Gleanser or Gleanser + SA to break down heavier makeup or sunscreen that can be difficult to remove.

This oil-based cleanser has been clinically-tested to be non-comedogenic, so it is non-pore clogging and is safe for acne-prone skin. It is also hypoallergenic and it has received the National Eczema Association Seal of Acceptance.

Key Ingredients of the Pre-Gleanse Cleansing Oil:

High Oleic Oil Blend: Rice Bran, Cica and Sunflower Oil blend that provides skin cleansing, conditioning and occlusive barrier protection to help prevent moisture loss without a heavy afterfeel.

Girl I just want you to know how amazing I think you are. I'm a family nurse practitioner and generally am not impressed with the medical "personalities", if you will, that I see online. Your derm shorts popped up in my feed some months ago and, despite being dubious at first, your consistent honest, relevant, no nonsense videos have proven valuable to me both as a person with skin and a medical provider. I wish Prequel would release a serum for sensitive skin that contains Tranexamic Acid, Ubiquinone (CoQ10), Pycnogenol, and Arbutin (Alpha Arbutin) in it. When put together, these ingredients can become an alternative to a Vitamin C serum for people who have sensitive skin and cannot tolerate any form of Vitamin C in their skincare. Although these ingredients may not have all of the benefits of Vitamin C on their own, when they are put together, each one contributes by providing different benefits that Vitamin C skincare offers (e.g., hyperpigmentation, collagen-production). Most importantly, they are said to be suitable for sensitive skin. Since I have very sensitive skin, my skin cannot tolerate any form of Vitamin C, but I still wish I could experience the benefits of Vitamin C skincare by using a serum that provides those benefits through more gentle ingredients.

Thank you @Dr.Sam for making something that's actually Non-Comedogenic! As a Muslim, before praying, we cleanse ourselves with water (performing wudu) and it's mighty important that the water actually penetrates through our skin barrier! So, that is one of the first things we look for in a product. I really hope more people bring out products that are actually non-comedogenic and accessible! Thank you.

Please keep releasing products Dr. Ellis. I would love it if you also release a:
*1 -* Lip SPF
*2 -* Body Sunscreen

I’m looking for a Lip SPF that has good ingredients, without any ingredients that could cause an issue if ingested (since anything that goes on the lips will likely be ingested to some degree due to its proximity to the mouth). Also, I would prefer if the Lip SPF looks fine both on my bare lips when I’m not wearing any lipstick, but also when I put on lipstick or lip gloss on top of it. Additionally, I prefer a high SPF for maximum protection, such as SPF 50, but I would still use the product if the SPF is at least 30.

I’m also looking for a body sunscreen with SPF 50+ that contains good ingredients. Even though there are lots of body sunscreens available out there (and luckily the skin on my body isn’t nearly as sensitive as the skin on my face), I would still order from Prequel if I find multiple products from Prequel that my skin likes.

I’ve been following your product launches and all of your products look interesting. At the top of my list is your mineral sunscreen, but I wish there was a tinted version, preferably 3 tinted versions for the 3 main skin tones: *Light, Medium & Dark.* These would be the ideal options in my opinion, but I will still try the mineral sunscreen that Prequel currently offers (especially now that you released an oil cleanser, since I can feel more confident that I’ll be able to fully remove the sunscreen). If Prequel becomes bigger and you are able to offer multiple versions of a sunscreen, it would be great if you offer the mineral sunscreen in 3 tinted versions to accommodate the main skin tones, which are *’Light, Medium, and Dark.’* The reason for this is that no matter how blendable an untinted mineral sunscreen is, it can never work for all skin tones. In my experience, an untinted mineral sunscreen doesn’t work for any skin tones, even light skin tones. I personally have a light skin tone, and I have worn untinted mineral sunscreens in the past, but there was still a visible white cast, which I didn’t like at all. This was one of the main reasons why I stopped wearing the sunscreen. So, then I looked into trying a tinted sunscreen, but the tinted sunscreens were too dark for my skin tone, so I ended up looking ridiculous wearing them too. This has been my struggle with finding a good mineral sunscreen that works for my skin tone, and I’m sure many others have had the same problem where mineral sunscreen is either too light or too dark for their skin tone.

Although, there’s a lot of variety in skin tones, I think offering 3 tinted versions and broadly narrowing them down to the major skin tones, which are *‘Light, Medium, and Dark’*, would make it possible for everyone to find a mineral sunscreen that looks natural on their skin. I think aesthetics matter when it comes to convincing people to wear sunscreen, and I think sunscreen that’s offered in 3 different tinted versions would provide that aesthetic appeal.

I know that people can also choose to wear chemical sunscreen in order to have a sunscreen that blends well and doesn’t leave a white cast, but not everybody can use chemical sunscreens. Some people won’t use chemical sunscreens because they don’t like the ingredients, but other people like myself won’t use them because they have sensitive skin that becomes irritated by chemical sunscreens. Because of this, there is definitely a place for mineral sunscreens, and I think there should be some options out there that not only have good ingredients but are also aesthetically pleasing.

Anyway, I don’t know how difficult it is to offer a tinted sunscreen in 3 different skin tones *(Light, Medium, and Dark)*, although it probably is difficult since a lot of skincare brands just don’t offer these options. But if it is possible to offer a tinted mineral sunscreen in 3 different skin tones *(Light, Medium, and Dark)*, imagine the difference this would make. Everyone would be able to find a sunscreen for their skin tone that looks good on them, and they would be more interested in wearing sunscreen on a daily basis.
