I would love a DLC to choose the other animatronics besides Freddy as a companion throughout the game.

Freddy crying only makes it worse. Both of them just. Poor babies.

"You know I'd never hurt you, right?" That is correct, Freddy wouldn't hurt gregory, but it doesn't matter, Freddy isn't in control here.

Low key though, Freddy would be the most dangerous animatronic.

It would be nice if throughout the game the other animatronics were largely friendly or in control of themselves, looking to find Gregory to help him, if they find him they just pick him up to bring him to Vanessa's security station that just 'happens' to have the invisible-to-animatronics serial killer. But as the game progresses there are parts where the animatronics get infected or overridden by a virus or reprogramming. When that happens, the player sees a change in them, like their eyes glow red, they change their voice and stance, etc.

Kind of like Sun and Moon.

The visit to the Daycare could be kind of a microcosm for what is happening in the Pizzaria. The animatronics are largely working properly and like the kids, but certain circumstances trigger an evil side to them that makes them attack children or bring them to places where Vanny can kidnap them. Or the brainwashing only activates after the animatronics make eye contact with Gregory. You could see Roxy walking around searching for the player, seeming like she really wants to help him, but the second she actually spots him she freezes up for a moment, her eyes start glowing, and she starts chasing the player down, only stopping if they successfully escape... at which point Roxy would keep looking around for a while, pause, and then 'reboot' back into her normal mode with no memory of what happened.

Then this would only stop if Gregory finds a way to disable and repair them (which could work out alot like what happens in the base game where he damages them until they get knocked out and he can get at their parts). Though considering how much work goes into making a game like this, the payoff would probably be limited to an ending where the various animatronics all work together to stop Burntrap or something.

(Long essay coming up)
You know, looking at things objectively, I think Roxy would make a better protector simply because she would be willing to fight the bots and rest of the main cast. Think how different the “disassemble Freddy” scene could have turned out if Roxy was in Freddy’s place. She wouldn’t have let herself get jumped. Even more, she would be able to see Vanny, which is proven in the rooftop ending.

Despite what a great guardian to Gregory Roxy would have been, I believe Monty would have been better due to his brute strength. We can also assume that Monty would be pissed off if another animatronic tried to attack Gregory, in which case he would become stronger. He may also have other reasons for protecting Gregory at the main cast’s expense, that being his desire to become the main star and replace Freddy like he did with Bonnie. Now onto the “disassemble” scene. Where Freddy would get jumped and Roxy might still get destroyed, but would do her best to take down as many bots as possible, Monty would be the one doing the disassembling. He’d bite off heads (was that the bite of ‘87??!!), tear off limbs, punch holes through robotic chests, and when the time would come to deal with Vanny, he’d tear her apart.

In conclusion, while Freddy makes a great father figure, he was too much of a pacifist to fight for Gregory when the time came. Roxanne, on the other hand, would put up a fight, but ultimately get overwhelmed. Monty, unlike Freddy or even Roxy, would rip and tear through staff bots, possibly animatronics, and Vannies alike.

TL;DR: Freddy was a great guardian, but for various reasons Roxy and Monty would, objectively, be better.

If Roxanne was the person by your side and not freddy - It would change a lot

imo it should have been this way, Freddy slowly losing control over the course of the game, things him saying making less and less sense or him glitching out, until eventually he calls the player over to a particular location (i.e. parts & service) but ends up ambushing/jumpscaring the player.. and upon loading up the autosave it made and we skip going to parts & service, instead after about a minute, alternative mission pops up when Freddy starts taunting us on our FazWatch. Then the rest of the game is us evading Freddy along with the other Animatronics and Vanny, while being taunted by Freddy on the FazWatch while Gregory is distraught and trying to talk with Freddy or talk Freddy out of it.

Then when 6AM rolls around, either you can "leave" and get the typical bad ending, or you stay and as part of the activities to do after 6am, one path can be a way to trap Freddy in the parts and service containment cylinder, until he runs out of power in which case we use the opportunity to "fix" him, maybe an automated scan of Freddy which determines his AI/Program/Security or whatever chip is compromised which luckily doesn't have any effect on their memory or who they are but happens to be where the tampering/hack/glitch is contained, and we play a chip replacement Simon type minigame in parts & service to restore Freddy.

Honestly, Freddy should have played more of a villain role, perhaps with Gregory eventually freeing him of Vanny’s control.

this makes me so sad for Freddy. He sounds so... unstable. Almost like he was driven to insanity from constant betrayal, and he's afraid Gregory will be the next to betray him. I wanna give the poor boi a hug ;^; itll probably kill me in this context but LET ME HUG HIM

Roxy could definitely be a mother figure to Gregory.

Ok, but like, why is fixing & freeing the other animatronics of Vanney's control NOT part of the base game?
Instead of butchering roxy for her eyes and slapping her parts onto Freddy, why not have them as a companion? Tie it to a special "everyone's free of the Afton curse" ending.

I still love freddy even if he's trying to kill us, he's too precious and nice, and I feel bad for him, he sounds so sad

Well done. Roxy does have a lot of sounds that are suitable for use in combat.

What i think would be their dialogues if changed:
Freddy: gregory, come here!
Stop hiding, we want to help you
We cant hurt you, we are trying to help
I will bring you to your parents

I bet as you progress with Roxy, she tells you about her traumas

I'd like to think that each one of the animatroics (Roxane, Montgomery, Chica, and Bonnie) all tried to save a child at some point, but with the lack of an oversized birthday cake hatch they were all caught. And since there was 9 missing children (as seen in the newspaper in the main escape ending) it could be but idk

If it Was Our freddy Version i would shit bricks because he can literally be locked behind a door in one moment and be next to you right after. Lowkey would be terrifying. also great work i really enjoyed it.
