Being a practicing advocate i would say if you’re having a strong legal background only then opt for legal career.

This may be true but the ground reality is quite different. The basic pay for a fresher if you choose litigation is very very low. There are many lawyers who work for 5k per month. It is rewarding after 5-6 kf work experience yes. But beginners cannot expect the same. The other jobs mentioned are very competitive. Law is a great option to choose as a career but one has to know the ground reality before choosing. I am law student and many of my friends do regret choosing law and want to change streams.

Reasons to not choose law in India

1-States like UP-Rajasthan-Bihar rarely brings up any vacancy. Also it have very less seats and competition is tough as Prelims require around 80% accuracy for general and normal PCS require around 66% accuracy for general

2-Litigation requires a lot of time and still you have rot in Indian Courts poor infrastructure

3-Legal officer vacancies are also very less

4-In corporate, i would suggest to do 2 year MBA rather than wasting 3 year for law

5-Believe me, its not at all worth it, never chase government jobs, its not at all worth it for this generation, rather do MBA or work on some skills and then go towards corporate or startups
