Billy Sheehan, Steven Harris then James Jamerson. Used to only play jazz basses then switched and started to really love and appreciate precision basses. Billy Sheehan and the crazy sounds he got out of that bass was the big moment that made me take notice of them. Nowadays I love and appreciate the simple one pickup, one volume, one tone setup. It's like a telecaster it's a blank slate you get out of a p bass what you put in

I believe I Want You Back, the Jackson 5 number was recorded with an early Telecaster Bass (basically a reissue of an early single coil P Bass). Great video.

Duck Dunn - Stax (and the Blues Brothers)
For me it seems all my favourite bass players use the Pbass. If it’s good enough for them, it’s good enough for me.
Plugged into an Ashdown ABM and you have (IMHO) the perfect tone.
