As a professional photographer, ya'll don't even realize how hard this is. First you need a lot of arm strength because that camera weighs a ton, AND it's situated a little bit forward from where you hold the gimbal making it forearm extensive because you have to offset the weight by pulling it up so it doesn't drop forward.(Prolly why he has big arms actually). Second, to get the right shot you need to ONLY be looking at your screen for your framing and angles so he's not even seeing anything other than his screen. (Amazing spacial awareness). Third, he needs be somewhat familiar with New Jeans' choreo to know which member to shoot, when to shoot, and how to shoot it (even if he's getting directions from the director). Fourth, he needs to know filmography to get the right shots and framing otherwise the directors words and directions would go completely over his head. They so do not get enough credit, but they're truly the backbone of industry in both music videos and live shows.

i used to attend inkigayo prerecordings nearly every weekend and the cameramen shocked and impressed me every time, i always wondered how much practice and study they have to do before each filming

You know what, though? they did a fantastic job. I can't imagine it's easy being a cameraman when you have to move around so much, yet keep the camera steady. Plus, you have to consider angles, and I think they also have to remember who sings at what time for smooth transitioning. Massive amount of respect to these people.
