Interesting take. I’m stuck at a 4 handicap trying to get to scratch, so may have to try this on weekdays after work. Although I’m not so sure how helpful games would be for me because my ball striking is the primary factor keeping me from scratch.

Thanks for the video! Currently making these changes myself (minus worst ball, but will be doing that too now) and was wondering if this is the best next step. Glad to hear this advice. Goal is to get to +6 in 3yrs, want to see if I can do it. Thanks again!!

I’ve heard this a lot and obviously it must work. Love the video mate

I’ve dropped almost 8 strokes off my scorecard by not hitting driver on every hole. I only hit driver on par 5’s. Ever other hole is an iron or my 4 hybrid if I need a tee shot over 215 yards. Helped me tons

18.6 right now and aiming to be a 5 by end of next year (Texas season can be 11months).

Made me realize my lowest rounds (88&89) I never hit woods off the tee unless I was at a par 5. Just have to play smart lol

Loved this video man!! Looking forward to more videos on how to get better at playing golf and not playing swings!

You didn't have money but you were a member of a golf club. Please tell me how you did that? That would help my game the most.

I live in the south east part of San Diego CA. Maybe 10 miles from the Mexico border, as the crow flys. There are three 18 hole courses within 2 or 3 miles from my home. And a lot more not far away. The problem is, they are all so busy and just backed up. It takes 6 hours to get in 18 holes. No chance to practice while on the course. None of any of the many courses near me have practice facilities. Just driving ranges and crappy range balls.

I wish my handicap dropped like this! Good tips though thank you!

Great video!

I wish I could play that much, but having kids limits this to 1-2 rounds per week where one of them (or both) will only be 9 holes.

I started playing last summer and got my hcp down to 17.8 as of now. Just got to keep at it!

Play with what you have. It’s easy to loose sight that the object is to take as few shots as possible not how well you drive or strike your irons.

I’d say the best thing to do is to get on the course as much as possible. The range is pointless most of the time. Only use the range to practice distance control with wedges up to 9i.

Oh, and practice chipping and putting every day until your hands bleed.

Excellent vid mate. But only applies if you are part of a members club.. most people can't afford to pay for 18 5 days a week

Once the course opens when the clocks change I played every night .I also play with as many new people as possible

Here in the States, public golf averages around $22/9 holes X 3x/week X 4 weeks/mo. = $264/mo. That's unfortunately not realistic for a lot of people, and that's just three times a week. For 18 you're looking at around $35, minimum. Not trying to be a buzz kill, but that's the reality check here in the States, at least. YMMV.

Alas if only I could play every day but my back won’t hear of it.. 🤕

Hi, great vid. How often were you playing to get down to scratch ?

Also, don't tee up your irons on the tee box... play it as if you're hitting from the fairway. You played your worst ball like that but didn't say it.

So be a junior and afford a membership. Afraid I learned golf 18 years to late for that to be feasible.
