[Stephen's wife, Laura] Thank you, thank you, thank you! Ended up looking for organic black tea in bulk online and couldn't find exactly what we wanted. So went in search of what plant it comes from. Ended up here on your video and realized that the Camellia bush we already have on our property is exactly this bush, Camellia Japonica! Now our search for organic black tea in bulk has come full circle to our own property! How exciting! Now, to figure out how to do this with a bit less time consuming work...hmm... You have been so helpful! Thanks again!!

I just got my first Cameilla Sinius plant in my garden after wanting one for years. So, I'm super excited to start making tea from it in a few years 😆

I just found this video looking to see if my Camilla Japonica was safe to make tea from. Thank you so much. I have a huge one growing in my front yard and it gives glorious beatific flowers but now I can use it for tea!! Thank you.

Okay! You’re right! I needed to let mine wilt almost two days in Northern California Coast. Then, if you want good tea, it’s those young leaves. I tried a few older leaves and tea tastes like artichoke water. Now, experimenting with different ferment times. My neighbors have no new growth ;) I appreciate this. Couldn’t have done this without you. I added flowers to the tea for prettiness.

I put a mother which grew on the apple cider vinegar I made, and used that to get some kombucha going. After a few batches, the bacteria had adjusted and it was fine. Then I used the SCOBY later again to make a batch of pineapple vinegar.

This is super cool. I wish I had one of those bushes! I drink plain ole black tea by the ton so this would be awesome to make on my own.
I finally got marshmallow and feverfew in the ground yesterday along with many others. Some chamomile, nasturtiums, borage, catnip, spearmint, peppermint, echinacea. I also planted a couple melon starts and a zucchini start and some more beans to grow up my corn. My neighbors were admiring everything so I gave them a couple tomato and cucumber volunteer plants I had. They’re early 20ish. You’d have thought I’d given them gold. It was nice to hear them be excited about healthy food and that I could help. Love, hugs and blessings. ~Lisa

I can't wait to try this! I have a few japonica here. I did try growing the senesis and it's flower isn't very attractive and yes, there are a lot of new small leaves unlike the japonica. It didn't grow well either. Thanks for sharing all of this!

This is neat! We have Camilla’s every where here in the South. How could you tell that the tea needed to stay out on the cookie sheet another 24 hrs? How do you know it’s ready to go into the dehydrator?
