Algebra 1 Lesson #22 How to Solve Systems of Linear Equations Using the Substitution Method

In this lesson, we will explore another method that can be used to solve a system of linear equations. This method is known as the substitution method. For the substitution method, we will solve one of the equations for one of the variables and then plug in for that variable in the other equation. This will produce a linear equation in one variable that can be solved. Once this is done we can plug in for the known variable in either original equation and find the other unknown value.
