Time for something different...

1995 - some Goa / Tribal / Ambient with definite deep, electronica roots

This is the 3cd version of Last Train to Lhasa. The first song on this album is a stone cold classic I first heard on Sasha/Digweed's Northern Exposure. It's so easy to lose track of time listening to this.

1. Last Train to Lhasa
2. Kuos [11:43]
3. China (Clouds Not Mountains) [18:40]
4. Amber [00:26:10]
5. Kincajou [00:33:45]
6. White Paint [00:40:32]
7. 887 (Structure) [00:46:38]
8. Kuos (Gnomes Mix) [01:00:56]
9. Kincajou (Duck! Asteroid) [01:12:15]
10. Eagle (Small Steppa Mix) [01:48:25]
11. China (Follow the Red Brick Road) [02:00:59]
12. Amber (Insect Intelligence) [02:10:29]
13. 887 (Darkside Return) [2:20:52]

Rendered from flac source.

Chuffin I had the immense pleasure of hearing this classic "live" last night with a mate at Band on the Wall Manchester and it was truly mind-blowing. Toby Marks is, in my opinion, an absolute genius. This song epitomises him. If he was able to do an 8 hour gig it would be brilliant but 2 hours sufficed on the the next time....can't wait ! ! !

After 15 minutes: "Quite good album".
After 30 minutes: "I love it". ❤
After 35 minutes: "How could I not listen to this during all years?"

Just passed my diving test. Red Peugeot 205 with 6x9's on the parcel shelf and a bass Canon in the boot. Drive up to dartmoor, find liberty caps, find a field, set up camp, open the boot, blast this and come up. Still gives me shivers listening to this now 😁👂🎶

I imagine when I die at the moment right as it happens my life will truly begin. At that moment time ends and real life begins. I believe I will hear a distant train like this, beautiful far off sounds like this, my lost love walking towards from where she has been since she left me that sad day, to walk forever in the world I used to dream of. Peace yall. Never stop dancing.

It's quite good. Thanks to the nineties for the endless reserve of good, pure, honest, trippy chill-out wonders.

1995 ??? Can't believe that my first steps into the goa/psytrance rabbithole were 26 years ago.Next year I'll celebrate my 40th birthday for the 11th time and my first son becomes 21 in May...when you are getting old and start to feel it, too...
This is one of my milestones in my personal music-history that draws through nearly all genres and it recalls warm memories full of love and light.
Dream on!

Last Train to Lhasa was THE electronic album for me in Berlin in the mid-90s. I heard it for the first time at Tacheles and was electrified! On the miserably long journey back to Munich at night, the CD was playing in the car and I almost started to fly . . . I still get goose bumps today when I hear it. Thirty years later, still a masterpiece!

One of many soundtracks to my psychedelic youth. Check out Children of the Bong, Banco de Gaia aka Toby Marks gave these kids his synths to do an album. It’s just as incredible! Much love to all who is still listening, it’s cool to know you guys are on this “train”❤️

Original, sprawling, artistic, evocative, inventive. Love it and remember it like yesterday. We appreciate and give thanks Toby Marks. A Time Machine to the Ninetees Ambient Dance scene. Potatoes included. Why are you crying????

This song enters every cell in my body. It brings out emotions that have been blocking me and I absolutely think this is one of the most brilliant made songs
