"Yo guys you think i should wear a helmet for dropping off a 250 ft cliff?"
"Nah man, you're good"

I didn't expect him to do a half-way back flip and land on his head.
Interesting technique.

After extensive testing, the people at Teton Gravity Research have determined that gravity pulls down on an object.
Every time.

"Guys I'm alright, my head absorbed most of the impact''

Honestly, were the skis really even necessary?

I come back once a year to get a good laugh… It never gets old, and neither do the comments 😂

Reading some of these comments I don't think hardly anybody understands anything about skiing, Jamie Pierre or the whole situation. He didn't land it because when you jump from that height you'd break your legs. He landed on his head because he accidentally over-rotated when trying to land on his back. He didn't just jump blindly, they dug a hole to make sure the snow is deep enough. His only injury was a busted lip from a shovel when they were digging him out. Finally, he's a freeskiing legend from Minnesota known for hucking cliffs and skiing powder, not just some village idiot, and he died in an avalanche a few years ago so let's show some respect.

“He has a wife and kids to think about.” I do too, therefore I don’t unnecessarily jump off of 300 ft cliffs.

He must really care about his wife & kids to put them through that. What a hero.

As if the fall wasn't bad enough, he almost got struck by lightning at 0:20

"if your friends told you to jump off a cliff, would you?"

He didn’t land it. Doesn’t count. Try again.

JP was an awesome dude. He went out doing what he loved; skiing. Nov 13th, 2011, JP triggered and got rolled up in an avie at Snowbird's South Chute in Utah. The resort was not yet opened for the season, but folks were poaching runs just as we always did. South Chute isn't terribly gnarly, but that changes quickly when an avalanche takes you down. God Bless, and ongoing prayers to his widow and two children. Miss ya, buddy!
